Dr. Anthony advised that the global fraternity should be mindful of the importance of collaborating on matters of security.

Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Kenny D. Anthony has expressed shock and sadness at the deadly events which took place this week in Brussels, Belgium.

In separate but related incidents, more than 30 people were killed and scores more injured in bomb attacks at Brussels International Airport and a city metro station.

Dr. Anthony denounced those responsible for the explosions, and noted that coming so soon after the Nov. 13 Paris attacks, it is more important than ever for right-thinking members of the global fraternity to be mindful of the importance of collaborating on matters of security.

The Prime Minister confirmed that to date no Saint Lucian nationals resident in Brussels have been reported amongst those directly affected by the bombings.

Saint Lucia and the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States are represented in Brussels by Her Excellency, Dr. Len Ishmael. In Saint Lucia, the Kingdom of Belgium is represented by His Excellency, Mr. Guy Sevrin.
