Funeral service for former president of Dominica

Dr. Liverpool played a key role in shaping Dr. Anthony's life, as he afforded him his first opportunity to lecture Law at Cave Hill and also influenced his entry into the Faculty of Law as at student.

Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Kenny D. Anthony has traveled to the Commonwealth of Dominica to attend the state funeral for His Excellency Dr. Nicholas Joseph Orville Liverpool, D.A.H.

Dr. Liverpool served as President of the Commonwealth of Dominica from Oct. 2, 2003 to Sep. 17, 2012 after a long career as a law lecturer, judge and diplomat.

He was part of the Faculty of Law at the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies from 1974 to 1992. During that period he served as a member of the Council of Legal Education, Head of the Teaching Department, Deputy Dean and Dean of the Faculty of Law.

The funeral service for the late His Excellency Dr. Nicholas Joseph Orville Liverpool, D.A.H., will take place today, June 19, at the Grand Bay Roman Catholic Church from 3 p.m.

The Prime Minister left Saint Lucia today, and returns on Saturday, June 20. He will be representing the Government and people of Saint Lucia at the funeral service.
