Saint Lucia records 67 new cases of COVID-19

FOLLOWING 80 RECOVERIES, THE NUMBER OF ACTIVE CASES IS 2351.

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs today Tuesday September 7, 2021 confirmation was received of 67 new cases of COVID-19. These cases were processed at the Ezra Long Laboratory on Monday September 6, 2021 from a batch of 323 samples. These new cases bring the total number of cases diagnosed in country to date to 9258.

Confirmation was also received of the recovery of 80 COVID-19 cases bringing the current number of active cases in country to date to 2351. Two of these active cases are currently critical and twelve of them are severely ill at the Respiratory Hospital.

To date, a total of 35, 092 individuals have received the first dose of the Astra Zeneca COVID-19 vaccine and 28, 240 have received the second dose. For the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine 4, 799 individuals have received the first dose and 72 individuals for the second dose. Anyone planning to be vaccinated tomorrow Wednesday September 8, 2021 can visit the Vigie Sports Complex, the Dennery Mothers’ Pre-School and the St. Anthony’s Medical Center in Vieux-Fort from 9am to 4pm.
