Saint Lucia records 19 new cases of COVID-19

FOLLOWING 112 RECOVERIES, THE NUMBER OF ACTIVE CASES IS 2181.

Today Monday September 20, 2021 the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs confirms a total of 19 new cases of COVID-19. These cases were processed on Sunday September 19, 2021 at the Ezra Long Laboratory from a total of 78 samples. This number of positive cases makes up 24.4% of all the samples processed on that date. These new cases bring the total number of cases diagnosed in country to date to 10, 624.

Confirmation was also received of the recovery of 112 individuals diagnosed with COVID-19. This brings the number of active cases in country to 2181. Three of these active cases are currently critical and twelve of them are severely ill at the Respiratory Hospital.

To date, a total of 35, 561 individuals have received the first dose of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine and 29, 018 have received the second dose. A total of 7, 870 individuals have received the first dose and 128 individuals have received the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

Tomorrow Tuesday, September 21, 2021 the vaccine will be administered at the Vieux-Fort RC Parish Hall, Gros-Islet Human Resource Centre, La Ressource Constituency Council in Dennery and the People’s Discount Drugstore, Victoria Street (by appointment only) from 9am to 4pm.
