As COVD-19 cases continue to surge worldwide, the impact on lives and livelihoods continues to be worrisome to the Government of Saint Lucia. Under the advice of medical professionals and consultation with stakeholders, the COVID-19 protocols for operating have been adjusted for the period 28th August - 07 th September 2021 to mitigate the threat levels to the people of Saint Lucia. Citizens are asked to observe the regular washing and sanitising of hands, social distancing, the wearing of masks in public spaces, and the avoidance of large crowd events. To those still hesitant about taking the vaccine, we ask you to reconsider your position, seek medical advice, and to help protect our nation from this deadly virus by taking the vaccine.

The public is encouraged to use the hotline number 311 if they have any queries or concerns.

The protocols for operating from 28th August to 7 th September 2021 are as follows:

(1) That a curfew is implemented as follows:

(a) Saturday, 28th August 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., with businesses, establishments, or offices ceasing operation at 3:00 p.m.;

(b) Sunday, 29th August 2021, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., with businesses, establishments, or offices ceasing operation at 12:00 noon;

(c) Monday, 30th August 2021 to Friday, 03rd September 2021, from 7:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., with businesses, establishments, or offices ceasing operation at 6:00 p.m.;

(d) Saturday, 04th September 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., with businesses, establishments, or offices ceasing operation at 3:00 p.m.;

(e) Sunday, 05th September 2021, twenty-four (24) hour curfew (4:00 a.m. Sunday to 4:00 a.m. Monday);

(f) Monday 06th September 2021 from 7:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. with businesses, establishments, or offices ceasing operation from 6:00 p.m.

(2) That a person with a valid liquor license, that offers for sale or disposes of intoxicating liquor only, shall operate as follows:

(a) Saturday, 28th August 2021, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.;

(b) Sunday, 29th August 2021, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon;

(c) Monday, 30th August 2021 to Friday, 03rd September 2021, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.;

(d) Saturday, 04th September 2021, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.;

(e) Shall remain closed on Sunday, 05th September 2021; (f) Monday, 06th September, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

(3) That a person shall not operate on a road a public omnibus that is loaded with more than ten passengers;

(4) That the above measures shall take effect from 28th August to 07 th September 2021;

(5) That educational and training institutions shall use a distributed learning modality for all classes, commencing no later than 13th September 2021;

(6) That Early Childhood Centres be opened for face-to-face engagement as of 06th September 2021, to facilitate structured supervision; and

(7) That all other measures remain the same.
